Mostly we say yes to junk food thinking who care about the waistline but having excessive junk food like burger, french fries, drinks, and chocolates, candy etc. gives you not only big belly and more weight, but it lowers the overall performance of your brain and body. This happens whether or not you Take care about the calories you eat each day.

It’s Less fulfilling than the Real Meal:

Junk foods are full of calories with lowest nutritional values, that means you need to eat a higher amount of junk food to feel full. It makes you feel and look heavy and keeps your wallet thin as you need to spend more on purchasing junk food because you will have to eat more food to feel full. It is correct that junk foods taste best and you enjoy eating them but focus on the whole food diet that is more filling and less calorie.

It Does Not Provide Your Body The Essential Nutrients:

It is right that if you take fewer calories in a day than the need of your body, it will help you in weight loss but a diet based on junk food is not good for losing weight. Cutting down calories intake is not the right method to be used for weight loss because it is commonly known that junk food does not contain the vital nutrients that our body requires to function properly. So, even if you’re taking fewer calories than those required by your body for the day, you still lack the right nutrients that you need. Continuing this for longer intervals can even cause some serious health conditions like making the immune system weak.

Junk Food Often Consist of Harmful Chemicals:

Relying heavily on junk food not only deprive your body of essential nutrients but there are higher chances of intaking harmful chemicals. Because junk food often consists of processed food which can contain artificial flavors to make them addictive and tastier along with giving them longer shelf life. Greater risk of cancer and heart diseases can cause even by excessive use of natural chemicals in junk food, for example, sugar and sodium.  A number of researches have been conducted worldwide telling how much these items have been harmful, but still, it is being eaten and advertised so widely.

Junk Foodies Are Mostly Found Facing Tooth Problems:

Excessive use of sugar cause tooth decay and then dentist ask you to stop using sweets. Junk food is high in sugar or cannot satisfy the eater without adding sugar in the meal. For example: If you order a hamburger or fries you will definitely order ketchup and soda that will lead to a mouthful of cavities. Starchy foods and food containing grains like potato chips can also lead to tooth decay. In the past; our elders never had tooth problems because junk food was not in demand and available, but today the main reason of a toothache is junk food.

Self-Care Activities Every One Should Try

Self-care is set of deliberate action aim towards our mental, physical and spiritual well-being., because they are planned, we have a choice of either taking out time to do them or avoid them. We can come up with as many excuses as our mental, thinking and creative capacity can allow us to make.

Self-care activities shouldn’t be occasional or temporary, they should be constant and planned, and they should be an integral part of our routine.  Self-care activities should be adapted to habits so that they can become a part of our behavior.

Eat right – Eating too much or too little; both can lead to many health problems. Proportionate your meal, consume all according to your body needs

Eat Variety – Variety in fruits, vegetables, and even meat can add new colors and flavors to your life other than providing you varied nutrients which fulfills our body needs.

Meditate – Meditation leads to spiritual health, one of three determinant of health.

Breathe – Breathing relaxes your muscles and supplies our brain with oxygen. Take slow and long breaths while standing in a queue, making an assignment, having lunch.

Hydrate – Keep you body hydrated; this will keep you fresh and active.

Digital detox –  Set your phone and laptop aside, don’t watch television for a day, and if you like it make it a habit.

Be conscious – Don’t be self-absorbed and live in a bubble, notice your surroundings. Be aware!

Nature – Spend time with nature. Watching the sky at night or strolling in a park, tasks as simple as these can help you get fresh.

Try new things – Trying a new coffee brand, getting yourself a new haircut or taking a different route to college/office may seem little, but they leave a positive impact.

Spend time with yourself – Take yourself to a date to your favorite restaurant, park or museum.

Spend time with your friends – Catch up with your girl-gang or boy-squad, go out to watch a movie or play your favorite sports.

Revisit your memories – Go through an old photo album or Facebook memories; enjoy reliving good memories.

Flowers – Put some flowers in your room or on your office desk, make sure it is in your sight.

Clean-up – Do little clean-ups, get rid of an item you haven’t used in awhile and donate them to charity.

Pamper – Pamper yourself by going to a spa, or give yourself a massage or pedicure at home.

Move – Don’t spend hours sitting in one position, do some stretches while sitting on a desk or watching Netflix.

Hobbies – Adopt a hobby! Cooking, baking, learn calligraphy or painting, start writing, so many possible options. This will utilize your free time in most productive way possible.

Help someone – Help your neighbor unload grocery, volunteer for public services at an organization near or simply lend your ear to someone’s problem.

Gratitude – Appreciate and be grateful for little things in your life, this habit will make you positive.

Self-worth is an important aspect of confident and happy life whereas self-care promotes self-love and self-worth.

Acne Treatment With Simple Homemade Ingredients

Acne is a common problem these days. Here are few homemade tips to prevent and treat acne. You must have some patience to see the results, as the following homemade treatments will take the time to heal your skin properly.

  • Acne treatment with apple cider

Apple cider is the excellent remedy to kill bacteria and balance pH of the skin. Mix one teaspoon of apple cider and three teaspoons of water. Dip the cotton ball in a mixture and apply it on a blemish or any affected part and leave it overnight. You can follow this procedure several times a day and apply any moisturizer on the skin afterward.

  • Cinnamon and Honey Mask

Make a mask of two tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon. Apply this paste on damp face and leave it for ten to fifteen minute. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry your face.

  • Use egg white to fade scars

Take egg whites according to the need of the affected area and whisk them till frothy. Papaya is the excellent cure for a pimple prone and oily skin. It removes dead skin, removes excessive oil and contains enzyme papain that helps to prevent pus from forming in the pimples. Mash one fresh papaya and apply it on your skin for fifteen to twenty minutes and then rinse with warm water. If your skin is dry, then apply moisturizer.

  • Use banana peel

Banana peels contain lutein, and it is an excellent antioxidant. It helps to reduce redness acne. Take a banana peel and rub on your face in a circular motion. Leave it on your skin for half an hour and then rinse.

  • Use baking soda as an antiseptic

Baking soda is a mild antiseptic and prevents fungus and bacteria growth on the skin. It also exfoliates the skin and makes it soft and beautiful. Make a thick paste of baking soda and water and massage is a circular motion. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and then rinse it with warm water. Apply moisturizer if necessary.

  • Apply mint juice

Take a handful of mint leaves and blend it with the help of mortar or blender. Apply the juice on damp face and leave it for five to ten minutes on your skin and then rinse it with cold water. Mint has anti-inflammatory and is a natural painkiller so it may also help to reduce painful swelling.

  • Take steam

Steam helps to prevent many problems including acne.
